What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is the practice of slowing down. With an emphasis on the fascial tissues of the body and a basis in the Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yin Yoga is a grounded and slow moving practice that seamlessly integrates meditation into the physical practice. Yin Yoga is accessible to all levels of practitioners and has many modifications to adjust for physical ailments that may keep you from the more active styles of yoga. In fact, you may find that those aches and pains that we all deal with become alleviated in a gentle, yet very real way through this practice. We invite you to take some time to disconnect from our ever-connected lives and plug into the naturally occurring, restorative energies within each of our bodies and minds. Prana, or life force, is invited in to the deeper recesses of body, mind, and heart to open, detoxify, and heal that which desires healing but where resistance may reside. If there is discomfort at first, you are invited to be with it and allow it to teach you or take you deeper. It is amazing what happens when we simply allow.... And as with any yoga practice, what you experience on the mat reflects that which is going on off the mat, and vice versa.
